Medical Physicist Assistant
NMPC has embraced the use of Medical Physics Assistants to better serve our clients, clinics and patients. The MPAs assist NMPC’s Qualified Medical Physicists with routine clinical QA (linac, software and patient QA), linear accelerator commissioning, and special projects including but not limited to: new device/software commissioning, system upgrade testing, and data collection/organization for research and clinical implementation.
NMPC’s MPA program utilizes MPPG 10a, and AAPM Professional Policy 29.1 to establish supervision requirements and task assignments.
MPAs typically hold a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering and have experience in programming, research, and radiation therapy.
